Number 8: Focus and love yourself more.
Narcissists will always regret losing you because they need you to help them feel better about themselves, they are great at making others feel special and loved, but they don’t really know how to do it for themselves. The more time you put into living yourself, the less time you’ll have to worry about what the narcissists think of you, and would last time spent worrying about the narcissist’s opinions, there’s less room for them to manipulate your emotions and get you under your skin.
You can start by giving yourself permission not to care about what other people think about you, especially not what narcissists believe about you. Then, set some boundaries around how much energy you’re willing to give them. So they don’t take up too much space in your mind or life.
Number 9: Be happy without them.
This is one of the easiest ways to get a narcissist to regret losing you and the most effective. All you have to do is be happy without them in your life; they’ll probably start feeling bad about themselves because they don’t get any attention from you anymore. It’s sad but true.
Narcissists need people around them to let them play the victim role, or they start feeling lost without someone to blame for their problems. It’s time to get back to doing the things that make you feel good about yourself again, whether that means spending more time with friends or getting out of the house for a fun activity. You will inevitably be happy when you are not to deal with them anymore, so embrace it.
