Suppose you get through to a narcissist by presenting facts that are contrary to their point of view. In that case, they will likely switch tactics and change the subject entirely.

They will spend a lot of time and energy trying to maintain the image they have created for themselves. And they will also be very sensitive to criticism, and they may react badly if they feel that their image is being tarnished.
